5 Healthy Snacks Ideas
Healthy snacks ideas that i want to share here with you, easy to make at home. These 5 healthy snack ideas are for every occasion when you’re rushing to work or school so you can enjoy them on the go. I love healthy snacks and almost every time when i go out i bring some healthy snacks with me. Let me know what your favorite from these 5 healthy snacks. I would like to know!
Tahini Sauce
This easy, homemade tahini recipe is super creamy and can be used in so many different recipes – including to make Hummus! Making tahini at home is less expensive than buying it in the store and the fresh taste makes all the difference.
Instructions
- First, I want to make Tahini sauce. I am using 2 cups white sesame seeds,
Gently toast the sesame seeds (stirring constantly) on medium low for 5 minutes, or until slightly golden. Careful here, sesame seeds can burn quickly.
- Then, let them cool to room temperature.
- Once the sesame seeds have cooled, add them to your food processor. Blend on high for one minute
- Add 2-3 tbsp avocado oil or light olive oil and blend for another minute to create a creamy consistency. Check the tahini’s consistency. It should be smooth, not gritty and should be pourable. You may need to process for another minute or add the additional tablespoon of oil. The key with making tahini is giving it time.
You can dip tahini with cucumbers, carrots, or celery. Then put a pinch of sesame seeds and chia seeds on the top or you can also add dijon mustard to get more flavour. Ehmm super healthy.
Homemade tahini will stay fresh in the refrigerator for up to a month, but you could always freeze leftovers. This is very basic how to make tahini sauce.
Grilled Pineapple
Next, I will make grilled pineapple. Grilling brings out all of the pineapple’s juices, and those juices will caramelize over the hot grates. It is so simple to make.Grilling only takes a few minutes and this grilled pineapple will complete any meal as a delicious side dish. This is perfect for summer.
First, I want to show you how to pick a right pineapple. You have to able to pull out easily one of the middle leaves, it’s mean ready to eat. Ideally, the exterior should have a greenish-yellow hue, which can indicate that it’s fully ripe. This is because pineapples slowly change from green to yellow as they ripen, and they stop ripening after being picked.
Instructions
- Lay the pineapple horizontally on a chopping board. Secure the pineapple with one hand and, using a sharp knife, slice off the top and bottom of the fruit.
- Stand the pineapple upright and carefully trim the skin, starting from the top, following the natural curve of the fruit, to the bottom. Be careful to reserve as much as the flesh as possible.
- Holding the pineapple firmly, slice it in half (vertically), then in half again to create four sections. And wash the pineapples.
- In a medium bowl, add 1tbsp maple syrup and 1tbsp cinnamon powder. Give a good mix.
- Spread on both side of the pineapple using a cooking brush.
- Preheat grill or grill pan to medium-high.
- Grill for about 3-4 minutes on each sides or until it is starting to turn golden brown.
- I am using wood stick to hold the pineapples
And that’s all, its very easy to make grilled pineapple. Enjoy.
Chocolate Walnut Banana Bites
Next one I will make chocolate walnut banana bites. Its perfect healthy sweet treat. Frozen banana slices are layered with dark chocolate and walnut. They’re a great bite to cool you on hot days! This combination is actually the perfect combination for a snack or dessert. I like to try to make sure all of my snacks and meals incorporate healthy fats, lean protein, and fiber. These Chocolate walnut Banana Bites are a fantastic snack, especially when you are craving something sweet and chocolaty but don’t want to ruin your diet. Have you ever made banana bites like these? i love it so much.
Instructions
- Peel and slice the bananas into rounds about 1/4 inch thick. Place the banana slices on the baking sheet and add dark chocolate butter and walnut on top. Repeat this for the rest of the banana slices..
- Place the bites in the freezer until solid – about an hour.
- Once frozen, you’re ready to enjoy or store away in freezer safe containers. You can store these bites in freezer-safe containers for up to 1-2 months. To prevent them from sticking to each other, freeze in separated layers. Create an even layer of bites, then separate the second the layer with parchment or wax paper.
Homemade Almond Butter
Homemade almond butter is healthy, delicious and super easy to make.
Instructions
- I am using 300gr roasted almonds. If you roast the almonds, there’s just one important step to not forget – let them cool to room temperature before you blend.
- Add a little oil (I like avocado oil) I put 2tbsp avocado oil to help them smooth easier. Blend until creamy.
- Once the almond butter is very smooth and creamy you can blend in any add-ins you would like. I always add 2tbsp cacao powder, for more flavor overall. I also add half of vanilla bean and 1tbsp of coconut sugar, it makes the tastes more special than store-bought.
- Then blend again until very smooth and creamy.
- Homemade almond butter recipe is healthy, delicious and super easy to make. It’s also ultra creamy.
- You can eat an apple with this almond butter, yummy and healthy. Almonds has protein, fiber, healthy fat, and vitamins. Please let me know how you like this recipe in the comments!
Almond Butter with rice crackers
Finally the last healthy snacks, you can eat the almond butter with rice crackers.
- Spread the homemade almond butter on the top of the crackers, and put some kiwis and sprinkle coconut flakes on the top. I like to put some pumpkin seeds as well. The crunch of rice cakes is very satisfying and less calories . Rice cakes cut out the carbs of bread and the crunch provides a satisfying eating experience similar to chips or popcorn!
Rice cakes are a snack, made from puffed rice that is pressed together into a round-shaped “cake”. They are low in calories which is why they are a favorite substitution for bread. Depending on what you’re craving and how hungry you are, these rice cake toppings are great morning or afternoon snacks. Please try this one – so good!
So that’s all my 5 healthy snack recipes, I hope that you enjoy it.
